As part of its ongoing efforts to develop and modernize its technological infrastructure and to support its strategic plan in advancing digital transformation and providing distinguished services to its customers—while ensuring the stability and continuity of operations and all banking services in a safe and sustainable manner—the Industrial Development Bank (IDB) announced the establishment and operation of its backup data center in Borg El Arab, located in a fully bank-owned facility. This was completed according to the latest international standards in design, construction, space planning, physical security, utilities, maintenance, and all operational criteria for data centers. This marks a first in the bank’s history since its establishment in 1947.

This project represents one of the most significant initiatives in the bank’s strategic plan to build a modern technological environment to enhance its banking and digital services. The bank aims to secure its data and ensure business continuity, thereby reinforcing its position in supporting banking innovation and digital transformation.

The project was carried out in cooperation with leading companies specializing in data center construction and engineering consultancy to ensure the application of the highest global quality standards, achieve optimal outcomes, and meet future needs.

The project objectives include:

• Enhancing Business Continuity: The center guarantees uninterrupted banking operations and services even in emergencies.
• Data Protection: Adoption of modern technologies to ensure customer data security and protection.
• Enabling Digital Transformation: The center serves as a fundamental platform for launching more digital and banking services.

Mr. Hussein Refai, CEO and Managing Director of the Industrial Development Bank, stated:
